Shop Spotlight: Glitter & Spice

May 27, 2015

Since Sophie turned one she hasn’t been into chewing on the teething necklaces that I wear anymore. She used to love laying on me and resting her head while chewing away on my teething necklaces. I found right around the time that she turned one she was no longer interested in my necklaces anymore, and not because she wasn’t still teething… but more because she didn’t sit still at all.

When I got in contact with Lorene from Glitter & Spice I knew that I had found something good. Lorene hand crafts beautiful teething necklaces for both children and mothers. I was immediately attracted to the children’s style necklaces and was super curious to see if Sophie would prefer to use her own necklace to help with teething. Sophie’s necklace arrived and she was immediately grabbing for it when I was holding it up. We put it around her neck and it looked so cute! The soft pale colors with the wooden accent beads are the perfect combo.  I found that when she was wearing her necklace in her stroller it was the most common time for her chew on her necklace. It gave her something to do while we went for longer walks. She is able to sit still for a longer period focusing on her necklace.

Now let’s get to know Lorene a little better and learn about how Glitter & Spice got started.

“With my first born I never had issues with teething, but then when my son came, that was a different story. The teething, drooling and constant needs to smack my face and pull my hair while nursing was full blown! I ended up cutting 18 inches of my hair off to make it manageable. Needless to say I was unprepared. While looking for something to help solve my problem, I was disappointed that I couldn’t find anything that didn’t scream ‘teething necklace’. Inspired by my darling beaver of a son, I decided to create stylish teething necklaces for the modern day mom that are safe and fun for babies to chew.”
