Creatives with Codi Lynn is a podcast that was started to help encourage & inspire women in both their personal and business life.
I have had a hard time gathering my thoughts around the news that I am about to share, but I know I must to ask you to please pray. Writing it out makes it seem all the more real, and frankly it is something that I very badly do not want to believe is true. Last week I got a phone call, it was my oldest sister, Jolene, on the other line and she asked if it was a good time. She said that she had bad news and asked if I was able to talk.
On our phone call I discovered that my sister has been diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer. I didn’t know what to say, I couldn’t believe it. I didn’t want to believe it. This couldn’t be happening to her.
I think as a family we are all still in shock, but we know that we need to stick together, be present and positive throughout every step. There are a lot of unknowns, but what we do know is that she is not going to fight this battle alone. I also know that we have a God that is good and a God that heals. When you think of her, please pray.
Some prayers that have been on my heart:
• The ability to be positive. Asking God to show peace and surround Jolene with positive people and positive thoughts. Our minds can easily wander, we can hear negative things, I ask that there is no dwelling on the negative but through each step recognizing the positive.
• Appointments to be schedule. This past week and a bit has been a lot of waiting, we pray that appointments will line up and that the people that are on the other end of the appointments are pleasant and helpful for each following step.
• Complete Healing. The type of cancer that was found is not easily treatable. I believe fully that our God heals and I pray for a complete healing over Jolene.

Oh gosh that’s so devastating. I hope and pray somehow everything will work out and your sister will be okay.
Be strong and couragous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your GOD goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6That quote is just a reminder your sister will never be alone because our LORD will always be there every step of the way in this journey that your sister’s going through and that somehow it’ll be okay.
