Three years ago when I was scrolling my Instagram feed I read something that touched me. Something that made me think a littler hard and feel a little deeper. This something was the launch of The One More Day Campaign. The Modern Fort and Arrow House joined forces to raise awareness and money for those fighting cancer. That year I bought my first of my three OMD sweaters, knowing that the money I was spending was going to a cause that meant something to me.

When I attended their launch event last year and each of us went in a circle sharing who we were and what that campaign meant to us, I was touched. One stood out in particular of a girl who had lost her sister to cancer. I couldn’t imagine. I refrained from imagining. I felt heart broken for her as that would be harder then words can express.
Then the month before OMD launched this year we got news that my sister has cancer. It brought this all back. (see her update here)

But the thing is, my sister is not the only one who is battling cancer, there are so many people. Too many people. So thankfully, for people like The Modern Fort and Arrow House that step up, we can make a change. We can come together to support these people. This year they are specifically raising money in support of moms with cancer.
Partial proceeds from each pullover will be going back to surprise some deserving moms in our community. With goals to plan a retreat like feel for these woman to feel loved and blessed. They give so much of themselves to others (such as their families) before they give to themselves.

Another campaign objective to raise awareness for early detection – “seriously… check yourself,” says Joanna of The Modern Fort. They also aim to provide emotional support to moms currently battling the fight of their lives as well as create an inclusive environment for moms to support one another in a journey such as this.

Such an important cause, and sadly one that hits home for too many. I need to buy one of these sweaters!
